Dear all,

I am relatively new to Qgis and its uses. Over the last year, I've used
three different Qgis versions: Lisboa (1.8), Dufour (2.0) and just switched
over to Valmiera.
I've also just discovered about the uses GRASS can have. Unfortunately, the
plugin and GRASS itself do not seem to work for me, and I have no idea why.
I have reinstalled Qgis multiple times, while in the mean time getting rid
of all system registries of both python and QGIS, as well as all user based
programme presets and spare files and folders.

Errors I'm getting are of this kind of nature:
In GRASS tools - File management - Import raster into GRASS: r.in.gdal.qgis:

Popup:
Cannot start module r.in.gdal.qgis.
PATH=C:/PROGRA~1/QGISVA~1/apps/grass/GRASS-~1.3/bin;C:/PROGRA~1/QGISVA~1/apps/grass/GRASS-~1.3/scripts;C:/PROGRA~1/QGISVA~1/apps/qgis/./grass/scripts/;C:/PROGRA~1/QGISVA~1/bin;C:\PROGRA~1\QGISVA~1\apps\qgis\bin;C:\PROGRA~1\QGISVA~1\apps\grass\grass-6.4.3\lib;C:\PROGRA~1\QGISVA~1\apps\grass\grass-6.4.3\bin;C:\PROGRA~1\QGISVA~1\apps\msys\bin;C:\PROGRA~1\QGISVA~1\apps\Python27\Scripts;C:\PROGRA~1\QGISVA~1\bin;C:\windows\system32;C:\windows;C:\windows\WBem;C:\PROGRA~1\QGISVA~1\apps\msys\bin
QGIS_PREFIX_PATH=C:/PROGRA~1/QGISVA~1/apps/qgis
command: C:/PROGRA~1/QGISVA~1/apps/grass/GRASS-~1.3/bin/r.in.gdal.exe
--interface-description

Also, when opening GRASS 6.4.3 GUI, after the initial mapset selection,
after starting up, it shows the command line for a second but then it
immediately shuts down.

- Operating System: Windows 7 Professional - service pack 1
- Qgis Valmiera (2.2.0)
- GRASS 6.4.3
- The whole package installed via the Standalone installer.

I have also tried to change the environment variable PATH in QGIS -
Settings - System - GISBASE. However, after changing, it immediately
changes back to: C:/PROGRA~1/QGISVA~1/apps/grass/GRASS-~1.3.

My app folder for grass is located in:
C:\PROGRA~1\QGISVA~1\apps\grass\grass-6.4.3

I hope you are able to help me. I have to say again, I'm really new to the
programme and have not been using the command line so far. Thus I would
really appreciate if you have an indepth fix, to explain it very
accurately. Thanks in advance,

A student.
