[Qgis-user] OGR and DWG

Hi,
I'm wanting to convert a DWG file to (almost) anything.
Neither QGIS nor ogrinfo will open it.

On Ubuntu 14.04 ogrinfo --version returns  GDAL 1.10.1 2013/08/26

Will getting a newer version help, or what else can I try?
