[Qgis-user] QGIS Opening simple Ascii X,Y,Z terrain data

Have you tried the "add delimited text layer" Tool? You can find it on 
the manage layers toolbar. If I had one I could most likely get to a 
raster once you have the points added (gdal_grid I believe is the 
command line command)
