Hi Lene,

I am not 100% sure what exactly you would like to archieve and how many additional layers you might accept but what about:

Using the QChainage plugin to chainage the layers in exactly the distance you would like to - style the newly created point layer so that the points are invisible and label the point layer by its created cng_ Attribute which has the accumulated distance in it.

If it works and you need something additionaly added to QChainage - let me know ;)
