[Qgis-user] How to 'difference' in existing layer

Hi Jorge,
Clip will, as you write result in a new file. I would like to perform the action on the first file - as if I manually use 'Add ring' in the Advanced Digitizing toolbar.

Hi Lene,

I'm not sure if I understood the question.

I would try the clip operation. You use the second layer to cut the first layer. But the result is another layer. But a layer with holes :-)
