I didn't try the advanced install as showned. <br>But step 4 <i style="color: rgb(153, 153, 153);">You have to select Advanced Install (Qgis is not listed under </i><i style="color: rgb(153, 153, 153);">Express Install)</i>. is obsolete, and installing qgis from express install worked well.<br>

Hi,<br>

I got some problems installing Qgis with the package osgeo4w. I work on Win<br>
XP SP3.<br>
I choosed to work with 0.11 because it was simple to install.<br>
<br>
So my question is : will the install be simplier in the future or the<br>
further version will stay on the same structure ?<br>
I mean for somebody who is not familiar with the opensource world (libraries<br>
etc) and wants simple features with a GIS like QGIS 0.11 provides me.<br>

I cannot answer the question as to whether the windows install will become<br>
simpler, however I have been installing 1.0 preview 2 on my co-workers<br>
computers because of the standalone installer.<br>
<br>
Note that OS X and Linux have extremely simple installation procedures, so<br>
this is really a windows build issue... Hopefully it will be more efficient<br>
in the future.<br>
