<p>This is an MSVC based build of QGIS. All dependencies are
supplied
in a standalone installer, including python, gdal (including MrSid
Wavelet compressed raster support) etc. This is most suitable for
people who have slow / no internet connections and who want to be able
to share and pass around copies of the installer - the installer can be
run offline since it contains everything needed to install QGIS and its
dependencies. You can check the integrity of this installer against
this <a
href="http://download.osgeo.org/qgis/win32/QGIS-1.0.2-0-Setup.exe.md5">checksum</a>.
<strong>Note:</strong> You may need to install the Microsoft C
Runtime Libraries too. If QGIS does not start, get the MSVC libs from <a
href="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&displaylang=en">here</a>
and install them before trying to run QGIS again.</p>
