I set the number of features to draw before updating the display to 1000<br>

<br>

Then I open a larger vector shapefile > 2000000 entries. and nothing

is drawn until everything is displayed.  I used to see things being

drawn and could stop the rendering by pressing the X icon at the bottom

right of the map.  I'm using version 1.4.0 on Fedora core 11.<br>
