Trying 1.7 on Windows. It seems that the GPSTools plugin still does
not successfully download from a GPS instrument. I still (it was
the same with 1.6) get an error such as:<br>
<br>
"The layer bike.gpx?type=waypoint is not a valid layer and can not
be added to the map"<br>
<br>
I tried both the OSGeo4W setup and the standalone installer. Same
result.<br>
Note that using the GPSBabelFE GUI works fine, as does gpsbabel from
the command line. Using either of these methods, the resulting gpx
file can be loaded with the GPSTools plugin. But the "Download from
GPS" option within the GPS Tools plugin does not seem to work.<br>

Anyone else seen this?<br>
