Yes, we upgraded spatialite to 4.0 a few days ago.<br>
I will talk with other maintainers on how to solve this issue.
Having 2 versions of spatialite will probably make things worse,
since many libraries compile against it. We would need to make a
selection I am afraid.<br>
I am wondering if there is a patch solving this issue or if this
is solved in git master.<br>

I usually create sqlite databases with Layer->Create new spatialite layer,
and entering a new filename. The gui can read 3.x and 4.x databases
wkithout problem.
