I found the function where you described and found it to be set to "UK". To effect some kind of change I selected "English US" and restarted Qgis and now I have everything displaying in English but the US version in both 1.8 and 2.0.</span></div><div><span></span> </div><div><span>As a further experiment I then changed the locale in 1.8 back to UK and restarted the program again. It opened displaying the cryllic/English once again. It appears that there is a problem somewhere within the "UK" Locale setting.
