I</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas">’</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas">ve only had this problem with OS MasterMap (UK) data and worked round it by saving the data as a shapefile</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas">, loading it into QGIS (which will still take a long time at first), and creating a spatial index in QGIS</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas">. After this it will load quickly.</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-gb"> <FONT FACE="Consolas">Ano</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas">ther work around</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-gb"> <FONT FACE="Consolas">is</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas"> loading the data into SQL Server (QGIS2.0 can</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-gb"> <FONT FACE="Consolas">read sql server spatial indexes), I think this approach will also work with PostGIS.</FONT></SPAN></P>

<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas">I'm adding native MapInfo tables to a project in QGIS 2.0.1. Small tables</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas">are fine, but tables with around 2 million records take 20 minutes to add! </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas">Likewise opening the Attribute table takes a very long time.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas">One a large table has been added, the map performs well - panning and</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas">zooming function really quickly.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT FACE="Consolas">Is there anything I can do to achieve acceptable loading times?</FONT></SPAN></P>
