    I had the same issue. Unfortunately I did not find a way to solve
    it, however, I am doing a workaround by converting the ecw-files
    into JPEGs using gdal_translate (in QGIS this would be under
    >Raster >Conversion >translate). The JPEGs will have the
    same size as the ecw's and you get rid of that zoom-problem and many
    other issues caused by ECW.<br>
