Hi Marco and Andreas,

if there is potential plan to use Teigha DWG Library from OpenDesign
Alliance, then probably is worth to include import support for
MicroStation DGN v8.

We are interested in this development. For sure we can provide test
data (DWG/DGN), and I believe we are ready something to fund also.

Best regards,
Hi Marco,

In the soon to be released 2.10 version and also in the upcoming
2.8.3 release (probably released in the second half of July) you
can find a much improved DXF export.

See http://www.qgis.ch/en/projects/dxf-export
for more details of the DXF export.

We will work on DXF/DWG import in the next 1-2 releases. We have
started to work on a requirements document here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NJv1lwd5TnWdV-fTuW7g5ts1O8r3vb46xYeAIQ_BwGw/edit?usp=sharing

Your input to the requirements document will be welcome. Also, we
would appreciate if you could help finance this effort - if
possible. We will soon ask a dev for a quote how much this will
cost and then approach the QGIS users to help fund this effort.

Note that it is definitely not possible to round-trip GIS to CAD
and back. CAD data is not a GIS format and vice versa. But we will
do our best to help bridge the two worlds.

Best regards,
Andreas
