SRTM version 3 is not the NASADEM.

That will be a new product made by reprocessing the original SRTM
images. STRMGL1 is simply a declassified 1 arc second version of
the 3 arc second data with void filling and lake-water flattening.
Before, they where available in the US only or Globally at the 3
arc-sec resolution.<br>

Qgis plugin, I would call JPL at NASA to find out how the
next version of the SRTMs (NASADem) will be distributed. I
imagine the data it downloaded from the various NASA FTP
services? If so this could become obsolete very quickly: (
if it's incompatible with the distribution system of the
next SRTM version that should be launch in June.</p>
