<p>Did you try to use the SVG file in an image object instead of the html object? The image object in print composer accepts raster files (png and jpeg) as well as SVG vector files. <span>Qt supports the </span><a href="http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/feature/1.2/#SVG-static">static features</a><span> of </span><a href="http://www.w3.org/TR/SVGMobile12">SVG 1.2 Tiny</a>, so probably doesn't correctly display some of Inkscapes advanced features, but plain basic shapes, path and text elements with simple fills and strokes should render well.</p>

<p>The reason I suggest the image object is because it has scaling and placement options, which comes in handy for atlas printing where you have SVG files with different sizes or width/height ratios.</p>

<div>I'm trying to manage an atlas, including for each feature a svg file (inkscape svg format) representing the cross-section of this feature. It works using the text block, displayed as HTML, using the <img> tag. But with this tag, with width and height set to 100%, it resize it so that the page (A4or A3) fit to the block... So that it's not at the right scale... And it's not an editable svg anymore, but an IMAGE...</div>
