<p dir="ltr">Your data is probably already in a ASCII raster format. You can open it via the raster menu. Lidar can also be in an ASCII point cloud format. In that case, I would generate the raster using cloud compare, also open source. There are many ways of generating that is Qgis but cloud compare will give you the best bang for the buck (free!). Then you can import the raster in Qgis.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Being a professional archaeologist extensively using lidar, I would be happy help out if you have questions (as long as your research ethics are top notch.)</p>
