Thanks Micha for the tip. The function didn't look that way a few
years ago and that's why I had given up using the default raster
analysis tool.<br>

So I tried to use the gdal_grid function and ... I got an error

ERROR 1: Attempt to create ADRG dataset with an illegal data type

Did you want your output in ADRG?? If not, then when you choose the
output file, change the type to Geotiff.<br>

I don't know why you're having trouble with the processing
toolbox, but regarding IDW interpolation, you can do it straight
in the Raster menu, <b>Raster->Analysis->Grid
(interpolation)</b>. This uses the gdal_grid utility<br>
