That worked, thanks Andre:<br>
I purged all the qgis and grass packages, changed the sources.list
file to use *only* the qgis.org/debian repo, then I got qgis 2.18.11
and grass 7.0.3. And the grass plugin appears in qgis.<br>

Until new, coordinated ubuntugis packages come out...<br>
