I remember having this problem if I typed the shapefile name
directly in the textbox, without clicking on the Browse button to
select a location for the file.<br>

<p>Where are you storing the new layer? Maybe you are not
selecting a folder where you can write the new shapefile (that's
why you get the permission denied error). Can you confirm the
location of the new shapefile?</p>
