<div dir="ltr">I think the best approach will greatly depend on your input data structure and situation, but I should think it certainly is possible.<div><br></div><div>In the processing toolbox, there is a GRASS tool called v.voronoi.skeleton which is pretty effective at producing single centerlines from polygons. If what you want is not achievable with a single tool, the modeler will allow you to chain processing steps to achieve that outcome, likely in a much more effective manner than in the article you linked to. There may also be community built processing models available on GitHub or GIS stack exchange which might already do this for you.
