<div dir="ltr">QGIS can definitely do all of those things. We have been using and loving the Input app but for your purposes a simpler method might work. If you have the person on the site take a picture of the machine with their phone (location services should be turned on) you could then collect all of the pictures in a folder and use the Import Geotagged Photos tool in QGIS to bring the photos into QGIS and have a point created at each location. Once you have a point layer you can add any additional data you like.
