<p>In short: comments with shape files did not (do not maybe still )
work</p>
<p>Solution: Just do not use ESRI-Shape files for work ;)</p>

<p>that depends on the provider in use, a PostGIS provider
might behave differently from a Shapefile. See if wrapping
the comment in /* comment */ works.</p>
