I get the following error. No results - empty kml file.

    I suppose the error message is displayed when you open the file with
    Google Earth (not QGIS).<br>
    It seems this is a common issue with Google Earth and big kml/kmz
    files [1].<br>
    Have you tried to create a not so big kml/kmz file? Does it opens
    without error in Google Earth?<br>
