<p>Hi Allan:</p>
<p>A shapefile is a collection of files and the
<shapefilename>.prj contains the original projection
information. When you reproject a layer, export it as a new
shapefile and the reprojected coorindates as well as the *.prj
file will be written. </p>
<p>This may the problem you are encountering.</p>
