Correct, this is in Jeroen's hands at the moment. The Geonetwork site was
hosted on one of the blades which was hacked, and was a somewhat custom
plone setup as I understand it. In addition to the site going down, the 
hard drive it was hosted on is now toast as well. I believe that the data
is still 'safe' (copied off somewhere), but that it will require Jeroen
to set it back up somewhere.

I have made an offer to Jeroen to help set him up with any resources that
he needs on the projects VM; additionally, I believe Alex has been working
to help duplicate the Plone setup.

This was my understanding of the state as of a couple days ago.

Jeroen mentioned that his availability was limited at the moment due to a 
number of travel plans.
