[SAC] [Hosting] MAINTENANCE: Core network migrations - Thursday, Dec 15 2022 2100 UTC

All,

Tomorrow starting at 1PM PST (2100 UTC) we will be migrating various fiber
uplinks to a "new" core router. There will be several small outages while I
move fiber to the "new" core router. I expect each outage should last no
longer than 30-60 seconds unless we run into issues.

This will move our core network to a switch topology that has more
redundancy for our core.

During the same outage window, we will be executing some commands on two
backend 10G switches which may cause a small outage as well. These switches
primarily service the arm64/x86 Ceph clusters and the arm64/x86 OpenStack
compute infrastructure. This is needed so that we can unsplit some of the
QSFP+ ports to allow for 40Gbps interconnects between the switches and
eventually set up an MLAG for additional redundancy.

Overall the outage window will last for two (2) hours, but will likely take
less if we don't run into any issues. I will send an email once everything
has been finished.
