Hi all,<br>a couple of days ago the definitive version of INSPIRE "Metadata" Implementing Rules have been sent to European Parliament members (ENVI Commission) [1].<br clear="all"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-US">Technical content of the
INSPIRE Implementing Rules for metadata is mainly the same as in the public
version [2].<br><br></span>INSPIRE implementing rules will become European "Regulation" and will be binding.<br>Actually, the process for the maintenance of the technical elements of the INSPIRE implementing rules has not been completely defined. <br>
Involving CEN is an option, but some have raised the problem of copyright (CEN docs have copyright constraints); <span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-US"></span>CEN/TC 287 already indicated its availability to maintain the technical parts of the IR's (in the business plan).<br>
I<span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-US">f the IR's are brought in
the CEN process, than they will also have to be put out as ISO new work item
