[Ubuntu] How to install Postgis with Postgresql 9.2?

I've been installing from source for the same reason; its easy enough with
'./configure && make && sudo checkinstall' to get a packaged version
installed. Just give the package a different name (like 'postgis-custom')
to prevent it from constantly trying to update the postgis package.

cheers,
Shaun
