[OSGeo-UK] FOSS4G UK 2018?

Hi All,

I think that if we run an event called FOSS4GUK 2018 then it needs to be a
2/3-day event similar in style to FOSS4GUK 2016. If people wanted to run
something smaller, then that would be cool, but I wouldn't want it to be
branded as a FOSS4GUK event- it should be called something different. It
would still have OSGeo:UK backing of course, but just not the FOSS4G(UK)
name. My reasoning for that is to preserve the FOSS4G name for bigger
events, for OSGeo branding and also attracting sponsors.

I personally really enjoyed the PostGIS show and tell event we organised a
while back at BGS in London- that was extremely light touch and pretty easy
to run. Two day events do come with extra logistics and if you want them to
be a success there's a lot to bear in mind.
