In practice this has allowed events to collect donations for attending events via eventbrite with funds going to OSGeo:UK and then raise a single invoice to OSGeo:UK pay back catering costs etc. PostGIS and other technology events have the option of following the same formula.<u></u><u></u></p><p>Going forward we're planning to try out offering a service to supply OSGeo Live to events that request it - either on DVD, or a loan of high speed USB2. If anything, it's a failing on the part of those of us deeply involved in the local chapter that we didn't make it seem like the obvious place for that to happen, rather than them going off on their own.<u></u><u></u></p></div><div><p class="MsoNormal"><u></u> <u></u></p></div><div><p class="MsoNormal">It would be really nice to see more engagement between the two parts of the community (I'm not going to call them separate communities), and hopefully with the rebooted chapter that may start to happen.
