I would like to put myself forward as a committee member. I have been involved in OSGeo activities for several years, being chair along with Tom Chadwin in 2018 for FOSS4G UK and having been an active speaker at many FOSS4G events previously, including the
international and EU editions. The open source geospatial community has always been very welcoming and supportive to me and I would be interested in giving back to the UK community and beyond. I'm currently working on the open source project Terra Draw which
is a library for drawing on web maps. The library is currently an OSGeo community project and a selected project for the OSGeo UK 2024 Code Sprint in Dorset. Here is my OSGeo member page which gives a little more detail on my background:

A couple of ideas I had were firstly looking at expanding the membership of OSGeo UK to attempt to appeal to people who perhaps work regularly with open source geospatial software but who may be unaware of the organisation or its goals. The second related idea
would be trying to potentially build relationships with other UK organisations who are supportive of FOSS such as the British Computer Society (who have an open source working group) and OpenUK (a not-for-profit company which helps promote the use of open
source in the UK). I think both of these ambitions could help bring in fresh ideas, opportunities and support for the organisation.
Many thanks,
