Try this:

http://www.fao.org/geonetwork/srv/en/main.home

and search for ‘GAUL’ in the free text.

Although the only way you will get the ‘correct’ names and boundaries is from the mapping authority in each country. This is actually what SALB tries to do. See: http://www.unsalb.org/

I hope this help,

Cheers,

Craig

Subject: [OSGeo Africa] African Data

Hi All

I am trying to source datasets for Uganda, Tanzania and Eritrea.

I have sourced data from Servir.Net and FAO and found huge variations in admin boundary layers, also a wrong attributes alocated to smaller admin layers.

I am interest in 3 x hierarchical Admin layers per country for Malaria and Eye-care projects.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
