GISSA's Open Source special interest group / OSGeo Local Chapter is running an 'Introduction to Quantum GIS' course, open to all. Please share this with GIS colleagues and students.
You will learn how to drive QGIS and how to use QGIS to perform the most common GIS operations, including
- making a map (cartography)
- overlay analysis
- spatial queries
- data capture (mapping) and editing
- working with different data sources
- applying QGIS in your work environment (education, government, etc.)
- how QGIS can integrate with other GIS software.
- advanced spatial analysis (vector and raster)
We will also touch on using PostGIS, GRASS and web services.
Presenters: Horst Duester, Tim Sutton, Gavin Fleming.
