       We are very interested in this initiative as we are also in the process of preparing training materials to start running open GIS.  We are still at the review stage of the existing material so if anyone has any suggestions in terms of useful resources I will be most grateful.

Dear colleagues, we ( www.rcmrd.org ) are in the process of making a case for the use of Open Source GIS and as such we would like to prepare training modules and launch these for the standard GIS User who is keen to harness and leverage the power of the technology. 



In this light, we are keen to identify training materials for which others have prepared and are willing to share/contribute with which we can then use to upgrade those we are developing as a tutorial. The objective is to eventually launch seminars and workshops to sensitize and elucidate GI technologies. 



OS software of choice are QGIS, gvSIG and ILWIS
