[OSGeo Africa] GeoExplorer URL Parameter

Hi Everyone

Does anyone have any idea if it possible to add a CQL filter of the like to
the url pointing to the composer of a geoExplorer instance. I know that you
can add a bounding box parameter but cannot get a filter to work.

eg:
http://testing:8080/geoexplorer/composer/?layers=WorkSpace%3ALayer&&bbox=3076358.245605,-1796281.381159,3105447.862689,-1778484.578999&filter=.
..

Any help would be appreciated.
