[OSGeo Africa] KZN Schools Shape File

Thank you to everyone who replied to my query.

Debbie Sutherland of NGI kindly emailed me a spreadsheet and kml file of 
the KZN schools. NGI undertook the task of verifying and correcting the 
spatial component of the Department of Basic Education’s data set – the 
National EMIS or the Education Management Information System, this 
dataset is updated to end 2012 (Debbie Sutherland, Putting schools on 
the map. Available at: http://www.ee.co.za/article/ngi-011-06.html)

I also downloaded the Basic Education database /QUARTER 1 OF 2015: JUNE 
2015 /from 
http://www.education.gov.za/EMIS/EMISDownloads/tabid/466/Default.aspx 
(thanks to FC Basson for this link).

A quick comparison between the two datasets shows the following:

After a very quick spatial inspection of the two datasets it appears 
that the NGI dataset is spatially more accurate, but the Basic Education 
list is more current so I will be using both lists to identify schools 
in my project area.
