Good Morning,

Wilma, what do you mean by "underground water resources"? There are a 
lot of shapefiles showing different aspects of groundwater resources, 
like the harvest potential, groundwater occurrence with yield, 
groundwater quality, and the groundwater vulnerability,  most of which 
produced by Vegter a couple of years ago. All the shapefiles have a lot 
of columns and you really need to know what they mean to get something 
useful out of them.

These maps were the basis of several newer maps/shapefiles produced for 
the 1:500000 groundwater resources map series, which are difficult to 
get hold of in the public domain so I would contact DWS and find out 
what they have and in what format they can provide it (good luck!). But 
for most of my projects I have worked with the Vegter shapefiles, which 
I have seen were used by other consultants to produce totally wrong 
results (no idea how they got to some of the figures for 
yields/potential etc.), so one needs to be really careful when using 
them. I am, however, not sure if these shapefiles are in the public 
domain, I certainly haven't found any website or link where they can be 
downloaded.
