I wanted to download a 50K map from CDNGI today, and in stead downloaded a product of which I cannot find the origin layer on the CDNGI portal. It was aerial imagery of 25cm over the map area I wanted, and the resultant download was about 25GB. The image was in Erdas .img and .ige format. For the life of me, I cannot recall what the heck I downloaded. Can anyone shed light of what i downloaded? Would be appreciated. You are emailing 1000s of people via this mailinglist. What is the filename of the downloaded file? What site did you use? As far as I know CDNGI do not directly offer the download of erdas .img and .ige format files. I believe the https://ngigeoportal.dlrrd.gov.za/cdngiportal/ does not allow downloading extremely large files, largest is around 400MB. The largest files on the portal are the ecw mosaic images and they cannot be directly downloaded. Instead of downloading the 2528CA 1:50 000 map from the portal, which I am very familiar with, I must have clicked somewhere that I indeed up with a provisioned file of around 25GB with the zip containing the files 2528CA_0.ige, 2528CA_0.img and 2528CA_0.pyrx. I later went through the whole portal, and especially looked in the Imagery/Aerial Photography and Imagery/Ortho_rectified subsections, but could not find anything close to what I ended up with. I have downloaded numerous data sets from the portal including imagery, and the provisioning of the download file took not a lot of time. Imagery was always in tiff format, but this one ended up in .img format, and took over three hours before I got the download link. I downloaded the 2528CA and 2528CC maps late yesterday, and also ended up with .img files, so I do not know why it is supplied in .img format now. Maps I downloaded (if I can recall, as my last map download was on the old portal, over a year ago, and that was in tiff) If this helps, the provisioned file was named provision-C923hluRQbKsSqfGW38hAQ.zip, so the provision job was provision-C923hluRQbKsSqfGW38hAQ. Use URL: https://eswatini-topo.openstreetmap.org.za/layer/sz_dos_topo_50k/{z}/{x}/{y}.png In other GIS apps XYZ is sometimes called TMS, with a top-left tile origin. Sorry, but WMS is not supported. I would greatly appreciate any help purchasing the historic 1:50k topographic series of Zimbabwe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/purchase-historical-zimbabwe-topographic-maps Getting these maps online requires a huge amount of work. I cannot fund this entirely from my "hobby funds". I also greatly appreciate the assistance from Sibylle Engelhard a Namibian based GIS expert, with processing the sheets. My future projects include the historic 1:50k topographic series for Lesotho and Malawi. Namibia is already online: https://namibia-topo.openstreetmap.org.za/ Kind regards, Grant
