Is it possible to create tiles for serving through a WMS service?

You can publish it directly as a WMS service using any web map
server such as QGIS server, Mapserver or Geoserver. If it is the NLC
from DEA, it is already pyramided and hence is fast.

You can cache or preseed tiles to make it even faster by using
combinations such as Mapproxy in front of QGIS server, or MapCache
with Mapserver or GeoWebCache with Geoserver.

Or you can use gdal2tiles.py to generate a complete static tile
pyramid from the command line.
