The WALIS Forum [1] in Perth will be on soon, and Gaia Resources [2]
have kindly offered to sponsor half the cost of an exhibitors stand for
OSGeo. The forum is on from 12-14 March 2008, at the Perth Convention
Exhibition Centre.

>From the WALIS site:
"WALIS Forum is one of the premier GIS events in Australia, attracting
over 650 participants from a diverse range of professions. Held every 18
months, the Forum provides an opportunity to address issues related to
the collection, management and application of geographic or spatial
information."

We'll need a few volunteers to help man the booth, and some $$ to help
cover the rest of the booth cost ($750), and any minor incidentals.
This is a great opportunity for business or government bodies that use
open source GIS to step up and support the projects that support you,
either with a cash contribution, or providing volunteer staff to man the
booth.

Autodesk has previously provided T-shirts, signage and brochures, which
we will be able to use. We will have net access, so if you're able to
run a demo showing of what you're favourite OSGeo project can do, that
would be great.

I'll be manning the booth for the three days of the conf, apart from
when I'm involved in an Open Source Workshop as part of the Forum. I've
put a wiki page up to organise the event at
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Aust-NZ/WALIS if you'd like to help out
with volunteering or costs.

Regards,
Tim Bowden
