[Aust-NZ] QGIS Install issue XPsp2 was NZ Towns

Ok, heres the solution FTR.

UNINSTALL all C++ runtimes.
Reboot
Install 2005SP1 only.
Run QGIS.

For me this worked. I had 2005, 2008 and 2008SP1 but 2005SP1 seems to be the key.

Others report needing to also install 2008SP1. I probably had some residue of it.

Crikey. Best update the download install page with some guidance here, or, fix the problem.
