Hi Aust/NZ OSGeo,

It's geoweek, And we have at least two exciting events to go to! We have Georabble on Wednesday night at the Pig N Whistle (register here (https://openstreetmap.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f9d4c3db0d039ad4bed7a1489&id=83e5c41c96&e=eccec8c654) ), and our OpenStreetMap Geoweek Mapathon on Saturday evening at Toowong Library (register here (https://openstreetmap.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f9d4c3db0d039ad4bed7a1489&id=a03fcee49a&e=eccec8c654) ).

I'd love to see you at both of these events, and I've left more details below about the Mapathon to entice you there, if you haven't already registered. It's looking like it'll be a bit quieter than last month, but it will still be a great time, with free pizza!

Quickly following on from the success of our First Ever Missing Maps Mapathon, we will be hosting a new Mapathon for OpenStreetMap Geoweek, at Toowong Library from 17:30 - 20:30 on Saturday the 18th of October.

We'll be mapping throughout the evening, in addition to:

17:15: Setup and registration/welcome

17:30: Introduction to Missing Maps and practical information

17:45: Missing Maps Training

19:00: Dinner break (food and drinks provided!)

20:15: End of day presentation and mapping progress talk

20:30: Pack up and drinks after at Royal Exchange Hotel


** What is it?
------------------------------------------------------------

OSM Geoweek (https://openstreetmap.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f9d4c3db0d039ad4bed7a1489&id=7a27d70bb3&e=eccec8c654)  is trying to organise Mapathons across the world to help raise awareness of OpenStreetMap and Missing Maps, and the effect these projects can have on local communities across the world.

The aim of the Missing Maps Project (https://openstreetmap.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f9d4c3db0d039ad4bed7a1489&id=55cf9edd2b&e=eccec8c654)  is to map the most crisis-prone parts of the developing world. With your help we can directly improve the lives of some of the planet’s most vulnerable people. Both beginners and experienced mappers are welcome to join this mapathon, please choose your ticket according to your level of mapping skills.


** Where will we be mapping?

** What do I need?

Just a laptop (please bring your own with you), a mouse and enthusiasm (mouse isn't absolutely necessary but makes the mapping A LOT faster).
