Per la meva banda estava mirant de fer les traduccions dels videos de la Geospatial Revolution però des de la Penn State University ens han respost que de moment ells no poden penjar videos en català en la seva web perque no tenen qui els hi ho certifiqui (ara els tenen en italià i castellà ) i que a més, per temes de copyright, no és possible ni tan sols que pengem els videos en el nostre bloc.

Thanks for your interest in the Geospatial Revolution Project, and for getting back in touch.

We have put subtitles on the website for two languages: Spanish and Italian. You just have to select the appropriate up arrow or closed caption (CC) box in the lower right corner of the the video and then select the language to see subtitles. There’s also a transcript that can be activated just underneath the YouTube videos.

Although Catalan is a different language, is your group perhaps also fluent in Spanish?  That could be one solution. Let me know if that works.

For alternatives, I’d have to do more thinking.  We aren’t really set up with staff, time or funding to put a lot of languages up on our videos.  The challenge is, Penn State University requires that someone here at the University takes a final review of any volunteer translations before we officially post them as subtitles to our videos.  And unfortunately,  you cannot host the videos yourselves, because of copyright agreements.  Any DVDs we’d produce for you would require a fee.

I don’t have an answer for you, but I wanted to get back.  Let me know whether the Spanish works at least as a potential solution, and then, if not, we can continue to brainstorm a solution.

Potser més endavant trobem alguna solució però de moment sembla que el tema dels videos està aturat en aquest punt. Si algú se li acut alguna solució imaginativa que ho digui, tenim preparats els transcripts en anglès dels quatre videos a partir de <http://www.universalsubtitles.org/en/> http://www.universalsubtitles.org/en/. Aquest també seria un bon exercici de crowsourcing amb segell geoinquiets.

Hola a todos,

Quiero retomar un poco este tema ya que muchos de los que estamos en geoinquiets estamos vinculados con el área educativa de alguna forma. Puede ser interesante preparar algún contenido y agregarlo <http://p2pu.org/es/> http://p2pu.org/es/, se podría crear un curso básico sobre conocimientos geo que tuviera el sello Geoinquiets.

La idea sería ir evolucionando hasta lograr algo como lo que se plantean en <https://wiki.mozilla.org/Badges> https://wiki.mozilla.org/Badges para crear una epecie de perfil Geo fácil de identificar.

Creo que como primer paso podemos traducir los retos que sea Geo o relacionados que tienen en <http://badges.p2pu.org/> http://badges.p2pu.org/

Bueno esto pudiera ser algo para anunciar en el 2º aniversario.
