Oh, the venue that we had arranged for the 17th-18th was not working out,
and we agreed to postpone it in favour of working on something smaller;
I'm hoping to get together an open mapping workshop in Boston instead,
to start with; build up some proofs of concept.
Where 2.0 seems to be have become a lot more open source/data friendly;
(the prospect of an extended plug in a keynote for OSGeo a big
opportunity to make a statement of values) and it now does seem worth
attending. I see that it's the Tuesday and Wednesday, so perhaps the
weekend before makes more sense, if the prospect is a lot of people
trekking out to California.
I wonder how a trip of such distance would work out for non-US based
participants - Markus, Arnulf, Venkatesh, might you be planning to go
anyway, could you manage this?
