Hello Board friends,

Since I'm getting good at this Wiki editing, I took the liberty to do some more "collaboration" on the board agenda to get a couple of additional items highlighted.

See: http://www.fossgis.de/osgeo/index.php/First_Board_Meeting

The first is to add a discussion item about high level IP issues. We've gotten some questions on the discuss lists about licensing, contributions, etc., so I thought we could talk about that briefly. I also created this doc to accompany the discussion (advance reading, if you have time):

The second item is to discuss Autodesk's need to find a comfortable home for MapGuide Open Source in the foundation before the next release scheduled at the end of the month. In my mind, this will require a contribution agreement from Autodesk to OSGEO covering the MapGuide/FDO code, as well as the formal establishment of a PSC for the MapGuide Open Source project. And, of course, the establishment of a PSC presupposes that the as-yet-undrafted foundation bylaws will adopt the PSC structure for project governance. Although I believe there is general agreement on that point, I think the sooner we review, approve and ratify the bylaws, the better off we will be.
