Sysadmin ideas/motion

Jo and I have dug up some options for getting some sysadmin support  
from OSL up and running ASAP for helping with our migration.

In a nutshell, we are proposing:
- -hiring an OSL staffer for 4 months ($25,000)
- -having OSL purchase a server for our exclusive use ($3,000)
- -he could also then help us design our migration plan in more detail
- -after 2 months, re-evaluate and extend the contract if we feel it is  
working well

There is a specific staff member at OSL who has become available and  
has supported drupal and other core services.  If we really wanted  
to, we could negotiate with him directly and hire him as OSGeo staff,  
likely for a reduced amount.  But in the interests of time and  
reducing our level of commitment, we think having an arms length  
arrangement might be best.

So I hope this is enough for you to discuss and possible make a  
motion on today if you would like.
