Folks,
the list of Charter Member Nominations is pretty impressive (current
count: 26). All nominations seem to have a good reason to be elected
into charter membership. It would be a shame to reject more than half of
them because the agreed number of new additions to the charter list is
limited to 10. Daniel suggested to fill membership up by 10% plus those
who are moved to inactive for not voting in the past three years. This
sounds like a good idea. Tyler, can you please provide numbers to this?

An other thoughts on this?

This also brings up the question again whether we should not try to make
the regular membership more attractive. Currently anyone can join by
themselves - which is perfectly fine for me. But members do not get much
of a recognition out of being a member. Everybody is creating social
networks, be it for trips, listening to music, showing off faces, or
pretty much anything else. Arguably any of this changes the world but it
seems like OSGeo has an attractivenss about it that could make this a
really interesting network.

Maybe we should have a dialog about this on Discuss.

Tyler,
I know that you have been proposing this on and off and there is some
CRM in the works, can you let us know about the current status?

Best regards,
Arnulf.
