In due course, evolution of OSGeo will need more participation from the Charter members.
The charter members who are expected to elect the board at the helm of OSGeo can be tapped for more involvement.
So are the ex-board members.

Things may evolve: A a founding member of OSGeo I was always very interested
to keep the community strongly involved. This implies that with the
years charter members
may obtain a stronger role than "just" electing the board members.
