A collaboration with the ASF is made impossible by the licenses, the
GeoTools project already had a discussion about a license
switch and one of the founders of the project (and current PMC member) was
very clearly against it, so that is a no go,
unless there is a change of mind.

The license agreement wording makes no mention of the license, so it's easy
to just take it, replace the parties, and
re-use it
